Connie Ekker-Steegs woont te midden van de natuur, die tegelijk haar inspiratiebron is.
Zij maakt haar olieverfschilderijen op paneel volgens de techniek van de oude meesters.        

Haar werk kenmerkt zich door een realistische weergave van vrouwen, vlinders en bloemen
in combinatie met een sfeer van licht, die als vanzelf vanuit haar gevoel op het paneel ontstaat.

About me

Connie Ekker-Steegs is a Dutch artist, who lives nearby the forest and flower fields, which are her source of inspiration. She makes oil paintings on panel according to the techniques of the old masters.

Characteristic of her work are realistic reflections of women, butterflies and flowers in combination with a sphere of light, that arises naturally from her emotions on the panel. Since 2003 she works full-time in her studio. Each painting is accompanied by one of her poems. 

Techniek

Op basis van een onderschildering in grijstinten komen de kleuren mooier uit en ontstaat er een gevoel van drie dimensionaliteit. Zelfs een verfijnde onderschildering in grijstinten is op zich al een schilderij om van te genieten. 

Deze fijnschildertechniek in olieverf op paneel maakt het voor mij mogelijk om o.a. vlinders en bloemen tot in het kleinste detail weer te geven.

Technique
In my paintings I bring pieces of nature to life in a beautiful atmosphere of light, according to the painting techniques of the old masters. Originally these techniques were applied by Leonardo da Vinci and Botticelli a.o.

This fine oil painting technique on panel enables me to reproduce butterflies and flowers in small detail.
